Find a Story, Create Art, or Share a Recommendation

Browse books, graphic novels, poetry, and media by contemporary Native creators. Make a drawing or collage, write a recommendation card, or add a short response. No registration is required.

Browse books, graphic novels, poetry, art, and media by contemporary Native creators during Native American Heritage Month. Choose a title, image, or theme that interests you.

You can:

• make a drawing or collage.
• write a recommendation card.
• respond to a title or image in a few lines.
• browse quietly and choose something to read next.

Written and visual prompts will be available. Work independently or alongside other teens, and share only if you choose. Staff can help you find a title or get started.

Materials will be available while supplies last. No prior knowledge or art experience is needed.

Library Program Attendance (both virtual and in the branch) is limited to participants within the suggested age range of the program. Children attending an MCPL program under the age of 8 must be accompanied by an adult. Adults attending a program intended for children must have an accompanying child.

If you plan to attend with a group of ten or more, please contact the branch at least one week before the program to discuss how your group might be accommodated.
