2:00pm - 4:00pm

Jona Colson, poet and Poetry Editor of WWPH Writes, will share his poetry followed by a Q & A and an Open Mic. Community members are encouraged to share their original poetry.

Thanks to a generous donation from the Pearl Foundation, we are pleased to have poet Jona Colson come to share his poems with us at Quince Orchard Library. After he reads he will answer your questions about writing and publishing with WWPH. Then we invite participants to share their original poetry at an open mic.

Jona Colson is an educator and poet. His poems have appeared in The Southern Review, Ploughshares, The Massachusetts Review, and elsewhere. In addition to writing his own poetry, he also translates the Spanish language poetry of Miguel Avero from Montevideo, Uruguay.  Jona is currently a professor at Montgomery College in Maryland, where he teaches English as a Second Language. And he is the Poetry Editor of WWPH Writes.

Jona Colson's book, Said Through Glass, as well as two anthologies published by WWPH which he has edited, This is What America Looks Like and America's Future are available from the Quince Orchard Library's Local Authors' Collection.
