Celebrate The Cambodian New Year! - In-person
A Cultural program w/Traditional Live Music & Folk Dance

Students from the CBS SS of Silver Spring will perform in celebration of the Khmer New Year, traditionally a celebration of the end of the harvesting season. May is Asian-American Heritage Month!
Students from the Cambodian Buddhist Society School in Silver Spring will perform traditional dance and music. More info about the Cambodian Buddhist Society: http://www.cambodian-buddhist.org/about_us.html
According to Montgomery Planning, "Cambodian Americans in Montgomery County, MD, represent a distinct community, with the Cambodian Buddhist Society in Silver Spring hosting the first Khmer temple in the United States. The community maintains cultural traditions, such as traditional dance, music, and language classes for youth."

Library Program Attendance (both virtual and in the branch) is limited to participants within the suggested age range of the program. Children attending an MCPL program under the age of 8 must be accompanied by an adult. Adults attending a program intended for children must have an accompanying child.
If you plan to attend with a group of ten or more, please contact the branch at least one week before the program to discuss how your group might be accommodated.

People who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing should request English-language captioning or sign-language interpretation at least five days before the library-sponsored program they plan to attend.
