Miriam Plotinsky will discuss her newly published book, "Writing Their Future Selves: Instructional Strategies to Affirm Student Identity," from W.W. Norton &Co. There will be time for Q & A.
Geared toward parents and all K-12 teachers who are looking to help kids establish a sense of identity that will last them beyond their years of schooling, Writing Their Future Selves provides practical tools and approaches for implementing writing strategies across content areas in a way that empowers students. The author has been a teacher in Montgomery County for almost 25 years, and is also a longtime Silver Spring resident, and parent, with a strong background in what can help move children forward in these challenging times.
