Teen Advisory Board (TAB)
Share Ideas, Plan Projects, and Earn SSL Hours
Thursday, July 02
4:00pm - 6:00pm
Join TAB for guest presentations, reflection, and service planning. Share ideas, help shape teen programs, support library projects, build leadership skills, and earn four SSL hours with other teens.
Join Quince Orchard Library's Teen Advisory Board (TAB) to help shape teen programs, displays, volunteer projects, and library spaces. TAB members share ideas with library staff, give feedback, plan upcoming activities, and work with other teens on projects that support the library and community.
The first hour usually features a guest presentation, skill-building activity, or discussion on a topic relevant to teens. The second hour is for TAB reflection, planning, and project work. TAB members identify library and community needs, help prepare service projects, take action through teen-led or teen-supported activities, and reflect on what they learned and who benefited.
New members are welcome. You do not need prior volunteer or leadership experience. Teens can earn four Student Service-Learning (SSL) hours for attending the full meeting and participating. Snacks are provided while supplies last.
This program is sponsored by Friends of the Library of Montgomery County, MD, Inc.

What Is a Teen Advisory Board?
TAB is a group of library teen volunteers that helps the library and the community by implementing, promoting, and advocating for youth services in Montgomery County. TAB will provide feedback on programs, assist librarians with planning and running events, and serve as library advocates. You earn SSL hours for attending TAB meetings, and additional volunteer opportunities will be announced throughout the year. Quince Orchard Library's TAB meetings take place on the first Thursday of each month from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m.
Library Program Attendance (both virtual and in the branch) is limited to participants within the suggested age range of the program. Children attending an MCPL program under the age of 8 must be accompanied by an adult. Adults attending a program intended for children must have an accompanying child.
If you plan to attend with a group of ten or more, please contact the branch at least one week before the program to discuss how your group might be accommodated.
