Quince Orchard Evening Book Discussion
Knife by Salman Rushdie
Thursday, June 25
6:45pm - 7:45pm
A Bold and Provocative Exploration of Morality, Power, and History
For June's meeting, we will be discussing Knife: meditations after an attempted murder by Salman Rushdie
A memoir detailing the 2022 assassination attempt on Salman Rushdie's life, where he was stabbed on stage during a lecture in New York. The book is a personal, unflinching account of the attack, his physical and emotional recovery, and a meditation on life, art, and resilience, exploring themes of trauma, love, and the power of literature to make sense of violence.
Print copies will be available at the circulation desk beginning approximately one month before the discussion. You may also be able to borrow this title in eBook and eAudiobook formats through MCPL's digital services (such as Libby/OverDrive and Hoopla, where available).
