Gaithersburg Library is teaming up with Flower Hill Elementary for a special Earth Day event with author Taunya English to celebrate her new book about birding!
Drop in anytime from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. to meet author Taunya English and listen to her new book, Honeybird Blue, then get creative with crafts and activities inspired by birding and nature as we celebrate Earth Day. Taunya will read her book a few times throughout the two hours, so there will be multiple opportunities to hear it!

About Taunya English
Taunya English is a naturalist in Montgomery County, Maryland, and author of the picture book Honeybird Blue, about a girl whose skills and patience are tested during a father-daughter birding adventure. The book, created with illustrator Raissa Figueroa and HarperCollins, is full of playful sound words and rhythm, perfect for boosting reading readiness. Taunya loves sloshing through wetlands, leading learners on nature hikes and birding by ear. Follow Taunya’s nature writing for adults at taunyaenglish.substack.com. Every story is an invitation to come out and play.
For Preschool through 5th grade and their families. Parents/caregivers MUST accompany children under the age of 8 during the program.
