Learn about the resources to get started in this program led by Chiquita Sorrels, President of the Afro-American Historical and Genealogical Society, Montgomery County, Maryland chapter.

Because married women took their husband's names, it can be difficult to find out what the wife's birth surname was and therefore difficult to trace the woman's family.  The presentation will discuss sources for finding that information.
