Cartooning (50+) - In-person

Create your original characters, caricatures, one-panel gag cartoons, and comic strips.

Experiment with pen-and-ink techniques and play around with all the elements of a cartoon: figure and background drawing, perspective, lighting, lettering, composition, and dialogue. This workshop is designed for residents 50+.

Registration and attendance to all 5 sessions are required (Wednesdays, March 13, 20, 27, April 3 & 10, 2024). 

Space is limited to 15 participants age 50+.

Art supplies will be provided. If any participant is registered and cannot attend, please contact the Wheaton Library to cancel the registration so that individuals on the waiting list can participate.

These classes are in partnership with artist Leila Cabib and funded in part by a Wheaton Cultural Project Grant from the Arts and Humanities Council of Montgomery County.

Accommodation Requests

People who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing should request English-language captioning or sign-language interpretation at least five days before the library-sponsored program they plan to attend.
