Kick off the 2024 Montgomery County Public Library Summer Reading Challenge with Echoes of Nature's Live Animal Program and other exciting activities for children and teens.
11 a.m. - 12 p.m. Summer Reading Storytime! Listen to stories, rhymes and songs about adventure, then stay for crafts and activities that highlight early literacy skills during this special extended storytime! Ideal for ages 18 months to 5 years with a parent or caregiver.
2 p.m. - 3 p.m. Echoes of Nature Animal Program: Echoes of Nature will provide a fun and educational program with live animal ambassadors. For children of all ages with their families.
3 p.m. - 5 p.m. Teen Smash Bros. Tournament and Game Night: Teens and tweens can join us in the Teen Room for a Smash Bros. Ultimate tournament. Register now or register day of at the library starting at 2:30 p.m. For ages 12-17.
11 a.m. - 5 p.m. Ongoing activities include sign-ups and free-book pickup for the Sumer Reading Challenge, a scavenger hunt, and various crafts for children and teens.
During the event, library staff and volunteers will be available to answer questions about the program, assist with sign-ups, and provide gameboards and a free book for children and teens who register. Can't make the event? Sign-up (or log in) online or at your local library starting May 15, and begin logging your reading, activities, and pick up your free book starting June 14.

Library Program Attendance (both virtual and in the branch) is limited to participants within the suggested age range of the program. Adults attending a program intended for children must have an accompanying child.
