Learn and practice mindfulness meditation on Sundays in April. Sessions will begin with a 30-minute meditation period, followed by an optional 15-minute discussion.

Weather permitting, this guided mindfulness meditation will be held outside on the patio of the library. If weather is problematic, the meditation will be provided in an upstairs meeting room.

Corina Urdaneta is a Venezuelan-born, certified mindfulness teacher and Awakening Joy teacher trained by Tara Brach, Jack Kornfield, and James Baraz. She has been a participant in the Year of Living Mindfully directed by Jonathan Foust of the Insight Meditation Community of Washington. She is a certified yoga teacher, trained at Kripalu Center for yoga and health, and at Dharamsala, India. Corina has been teaching yoga for 20 years and has taught in Ithaca, NY, Mexico, and Venezuela.

Si el tiempo lo permite, esta meditación guiada de atención plena se llevará a cabo en el patio de la biblioteca. Si el clima es problemático, la meditación se realizará en una sala de reuniones en el piso superior.

Corina se certificó como maestra de “Meditación Mindfulness” y de “Despertar de la Alegría interior” en el año 2021. Recibió sus entrenamientos de la mano de los reconocidos maestros:Tara Brach, Jack Kornfield y James Baraz. También participó en el programa “Un año para vivir Mindfully” (YLM10) liderizado por Jonathan Faust.  

El amor de Corina por Mindfulness creció y se profundizó cuando empezó a asistir a las charlas impartidas por Tara Brach. Su interés mas profundo es hacer disponible Mindfulness o Atención plena, entre la comunidad hispano-hablante.

Corina es también “Maestra Senior Avanzada de Yoga” (E-RYT500). Recibió sus entrenamientos en Kripalu Center for Health and Yoga y en Daramshala, India. Ha enseñado Yoga durante 20 años y su experiencia incluye lugares como: Ithaca(NY), México y Venezuela. Desde que regresó a los Estados Unidos en el 2008, ha enseñado Yoga en español, y más recientemente Mindfulness a través de la Asociación de Familias del BID, Bibliotecas Pública de Montgomery County y Fairfax, así como en el Center for Mindful Living, DC.
