Browse Challenged Books and Choose a Creative Response
Thursday, October 08
4:00pm - 5:00pm
Browse challenged books, learn how a challenge differs from a ban, and respond with a bookmark, shelf talker, blackout poem, or scenario card. No registration is required.
Browse books that have faced challenges in schools or libraries, and learn how a challenge differs from a ban. Then, choose a response based on what interests you.
You can:
- make a bookmark or shelf talker.
- create a blackout poem or visual response using provided materials.
- respond to a fictional book-challenge scenario.
- recommend a book to another reader.
Work independently, with a partner, or alongside other teens. Written prompts and visual examples will be available, and staff can help you get started. You do not need to share what you make.
