Giddy up for a hands-on introduction to the world of horses!

Curious about horses, ponies, or even unicorns? Join Equity for Equestrians for a fun, hands-on introduction to the wonderful world of horses!

This unmounted (no live horses) workshop welcomes young horse lovers of all experience levels. Through interactive activities, participants will discover fun facts about horses, from anatomy to riding basics, while exploring local equestrian opportunities.

Then it's time for The Mane Event! Create a one-of-a-kind horse bookmark by decorating it with colorful art materials and weaving in a bright yarn mane, a keepsake that's perfect for your next great read. Every participant will also receive an Equity for Equestrians Discovery Booklet filled with fun horse games, activities, and coloring pages. 

About the Presenter: Ava Williams is the founder of Equity for Equestrians, a Girl Scout Gold Award initiative dedicated to making horse education more accessible and helping young people discover pathways into the equestrian community.

Library Program Attendance (both virtual and in the branch) is limited to participants within the suggested age range of the program. Children attending an MCPL program under the age of 8 must be accompanied by an adult. Adults attending a program intended for children must have an accompanying child.

If you plan to attend with a group of ten or more, please contact the branch at least one week before the program to discuss how your group might be accommodated.
