Attend an information session and receive assistance from the Montgomery College Trio Educational Opportunity Center, in Spanish. See below for eligibility for Trio services.

The Educational Opportunity Center's services are open to current Montgomery College students and also the public. You do not need to be an MC student to participate. Eligibility:

A current Montgomery County resident (does not apply to U.S. veterans)
An adult age 19 years or older (with the exception of current high school seniors)
A U.S. citizen, Permanent Resident, Approved Refugee, Approved Asylee OR meet the residency requirement for federal student financial aid
Have not earned a 4-year bachelor’s degree in or outside of the U.S.
Potential first-general college student (neither parent has a 4-year college degree)
Low-income individual (based on federal guidelines)

This program will also be held at the Wheaton Library in Amharic on April 16, 1-3pm, and in English on June 25, 1-3pm.

You'll need a current MCPL card to access these. Don't have a card right now?  No worries!  Get a Library Card.

Library Program Attendance (both virtual and in the branch) is limited to participants within the suggested age range of the program. Children attending an MCPL program under the age of 8 must be accompanied by an adult. Adults attending a program intended for children must have an accompanying child.

If you plan to attend with a group of ten or more, please contact the branch at least one week before the program to discuss how your group might be accommodated.

Accommodation Requests

People who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing should request English-language captioning or sign-language interpretation at least five days before the library-sponsored program they plan to attend. Contact the Assistant Facilities and Accessibility Program Manager at 240-777-0002 with all other accommodation requests.
