Free Upcounty Travel Training session. Instruction and a virtual field excursion, you will learn how to navigate sustainable transportation options in Germantown and beyond! 

Join Montgomery County Department of Transportation MCDOT Commuter Services for a FREE Upcounty Travel Training session at Germantown Library, on Friday, Feb 27, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. 

Complete this short form to REGISTER TODAY. Through in-person instruction and a virtual field excursion, you will learn how to navigate sustainable transportation options in Germantown and beyond!   

This program is free but requires registration through MCDOT Link above. This program takes place in the lower level large meeting room.

You will learn:  

• How to navigate public transportation independently  
• How to use trip planning tools/apps  
• About senior and low-income discount programs 
• About commute necessities and cost   
   

You will receive:  

• Fun swag items and giveaways 
• Local and regional transportation brochures 
• Refreshments

Library Program Attendance (both virtual and in the branch) is limited to participants within the suggested age range of the program. Children attending an MCPL program under the age of 8 must be accompanied by an adult. Adults attending a program intended for children must have an accompanying child.

If you plan to attend with a group of ten or more, please contact the branch at least one week before the program to discuss how your group might be accommodated.

People who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing should request English-language captioning or sign-language interpretation at least five days before the library-sponsored program they plan to attend. Contact the Assistant Facilities and Accessibility Program Manager at 240-777-0002 with all other accommodation requests.
