Celebrate the 2026 Lunar New Year: A Special Program at the Wheaton Library!
Get ready for an exciting celebration of the 2026 Lunar New Year – The Year of the Horse! Join us at the Wheaton Library for a one-of-a-kind cultural experience, as students from the Li-Ming Chinese Academy partner with the library to bring Chinese traditions to life.
This special program will immerse you in the rich customs and festivities of the Lunar New Year. Discover how Chinese families celebrate this joyous occasion, learn about the Chinese zodiac signs and their influence on personality traits based on your birth year, and explore the vibrant world of Chinese culture through interactive activities.
Highlights of the event include a Lion Dance, a Shadow Puppet Show, demonstrations of Tai Chi, and an exciting yo-yo performance. The fun doesn’t stop there – attendees will have the chance to practice their yo-yo skills and even try their hand at Chinese calligraphy, creating personalized Chinese names and New Year fortune wishes.
Don’t miss this unforgettable celebration of tradition, art, and community. Bring your friends and family to kick off the Year of the Horse with joy and excitement at the Wheaton Library!
