What You Are Looking For Is in the Library by M Aoyama
Thursday, December 17
6:45pm - 7:45pm
A Heartwarming Tale of Books, Discovery, and Life’s Turning Points
For December's meeting, we will be discussing What You Are Looking For Is in the Library by Michiko Aoyama
A heartwarming Japanese novel about an enigmatic librarian, Sayuri Komachi, who gives life-changing book recommendations to various patrons in Tokyo, helping them find direction and purpose. The book follows five individuals—a restless retail worker, a demoted mother, an aspiring antique dealer, a retired salaryman, and others—as they receive unexpected book suggestions that guide them toward fulfilling their dreams, making it a "feel-good" story about connection, self-discovery, and the magic of libraries.
Print copies will be available at the circulation desk beginning approximately one month before the discussion. You may also be able to borrow this title in eBook and eAudiobook formats through MCPL's digital services (such as Libby/OverDrive and Hoopla, where available).
