Join award-winning author Erica S. Perl as she talks about her career, plus learn how to become a better writer! Ages 5 to 10. Sponsored by the American Jewish Committee.
Award-winning author Erica S. Perl will talk about her childhood and a career that has included everything from driving an ice cream truck to practicing law to writing more than 40 books for young readers (including books written with R.J. Palacio and Dolly Parton).
Perl will lead several activities including a storytelling activity with her books for children ages 5-10 and a drawing activity that includes how to create comic book panels that help children become better writers.
In recognition of Jewish American Heritage Month (May) she will share how her Jewish background influenced her career, childhood and in honor of Mother’s Day, as a Mom!
This month, we hope you will join us in celebrating the many contributions of Jewish Americans and that you will learn more about the history, culture, accomplishments, and diversity of the American Jewish community. By celebrating heritage months, we learn about one another, we honor the richness of our diverse nation, and we strengthen the fabric of American society.
This event is cosponsored by Montgomery County Public Libraries and the American Jewish Committee.
