Come join us in starting "No Shelf Control," a new Book Club for students entering grades 4-6. Enjoy sample "tastes" of books from different categories in a fun, food-themed, game-like activity!
Are you a reader entering grades 4, 5, or 6 who would love to talk about books with other kids? Want to help plan and start a new Book Club at the library?
“No Shelf Control” is a new group at the Connie Morella Library for students entering grades 4-6! The club’s first activity will feature sample “tastes” of books in a variety of literary “courses”—Adventure Appetizers, Biography Bites, Fantasy Finger Foods, Nature Nibbles, Science Snacks, and more! Find something new that you might like AND contribute your ideas and interests into planning the books and activities for the group for the 2023-2024 school year. For students entering grades 4-6.
Two sessions of Book Tasting are available: Monday, September 25, from 3:00-4:00 pm, and Wednesday, September 27, from 6:00-7:00 pm. Please choose one to attend.
The first discussion of No Shelf Control will be Wednesday, October 11, and a short reading will be distributed at the Book Tastings and available from the Connie Morella Library Check-Out Desk, starting on Monday, September 25.
No Shelf Control will meet from 6:30-7:30 pm on the second Wednesday of every month: October 11, November 8, and December 13, 2023; then January 10, February 14, March 13, April 10, May 8, and June 12, 2024.
If you are interested in the club, but not able to attend either session, or have any other questions, please email children’s librarian Jeff Coster at Jeffrey.Coster@montgomerycountymd.gov.
