Montgomery Montage: Our County’s 250-Year History
Montgomery County History - A Montage
Thursday, May 07
1:00pm - 2:15pm
This year, Montgomery County, Maryland and the United States will both celebrate their 250th anniversaries, called “Semi quincentennial.”
In honor of this anniversary, local historian Ralph Buglass will take you on a guided journey in pictures through the rich 250-year history of Montgomery County and the myriad changes in time, people and place that have made the county what it is today. Like a time machine, he will discuss how the Civil War shaped Maryland — a border state with deeply divided loyalties — and make stops from rural beginning to suburban sprawl and the highly urbanized areas now on the county map. Includes Q&A. . Our distinguished speaker is a Montgomery County native and an instructor associated with Johns Hopkins and Montgomery College, as well as Montgomery History.
