Take one mindful hour just for you. Join us for a low-pressure, high-impact practice that turns writing into a tool for emotional release and stress relief.
Join us for a unique and liberating writing experience inspired by the principles of Expressive Writing, as introduced in the book, Opening Up by Writing It Down by James Pennebaker.
In this workshop, you'll learn how writing can be a powerful tool for emotional release and stress relief. After a brief introduction to the concept and benefits of expressive writing, there will be a short period of private, stream-of-consciousness writing—a chance to bring out thoughts and feelings that routinely go unexpressed.
This is not about grammar, storytelling, or sharing. You are the only audience. No one will read what you write. The focus is on release, not record keeping.
After writing, you'll take your pages to the shredder—literally and symbolically letting go of what no longer serves you. We’ll close with a group reflection on the process (not the content), exploring how it felt to write, release, and shred.
Come write it out—and let it go!
This program is designed for emerging adults, adults, and older adults. Registration is required.
