Join us for fun and helpful story prompts and writing exercises. Unstick your imagination with us!

Do you want to write a novel, a story, a poem, or even a Sonic the Hedgehog fan fiction? Do you have trouble getting your words on paper? If you are a teen between the ages of 13-19, join us in the media lab at Wheaton Library! Meet other aspiring teen writers and respond to  wacky, zany, thought-provoking writing prompts and exercises! Don't know what a writing prompt is? Join us anyway and find out!

Last time we explored the creative writing element of plot.

For June, we will talk about setting. In literature, the setting is a fundamental element that establishes the backdrop for the story, encompassing the location, time period, and cultural context in which the narrative unfolds. It serves not only to ground the characters and their actions but also to enhance the mood, tone, and themes of the work.

If you aren't familiar with all that, come anyway! It will be fun, and we might have snacks!
