Ocean Vuong is the author of several poetry collections, including Night Sky With Exit Wounds, which won the T.S. Eliot prize, among other awards. Born in Saigon and raised in Connecticut, he often explores themes related to transformation, desire, and violent loss, and many discussing the enigmatic figure of his father. The workshop is led by Carlota Roby, a human rights attorney and co-founder of the Vocales Verticales project. She is also a poet, and has published the poetry collections Las Manos de los Muertos (2013); Suburban Tales (2019); and Lilith (2024).
The program will be held in the Multi-Purpose Room, off the lobby on the first floor.

Library Program Attendance (both virtual and in the branch) is limited to participants within the suggested age range of the program. Children attending an MCPL program under the age of 8 must be accompanied by an adult. Adults attending a program intended for children must have an accompanying child.
