Interested in joining? The Book Club meets the second Thursday of each month from 10:30 am to 12:00 pm, meeting room 2. We'll talk over the book "The Night Watchman" by Louise Erdrich.
The book chosen for this month's discussion is the Pulitzer prize winner for fiction The Night Watchman by Louise Erdrich. The novel is based on the life of the author's grandfather, Patrick Gourneau and draws heavily from his experiences as a tribal chairman and night watchman who fought against the termination bill of the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa in rural North Dakota all the way to Washington DC. This powerful novel explores themes of love and death with lightness and gravity and unfolds with the elegant prose, sly humor, and depth of feeling of a master craftsman.
Copies of this book will be available at the check out desk, while supplies last.
