Presenter Katie Shilton is an associate professor in the College of Information Studies at the University of Maryland, College Park, and leads the Ethics & Values in Design (EViD) Lab.

While AI (Artificial Intelligence) underlies much of the information technology we have been using for decades, it is only in the past year or so that such technologies as Generative AI (ChatGPT for example) have become available for public use. Is this new (to us) technology ready for prime time? What can we do to use it responsibly, ethically, and to maximum benefit?

Dr. Katie Shilton, Associate Professor at the College of Information Studies at the University of Maryland, College Park and head of the Ethics & Values in Design (EViD) Lab, will discuss these issues and answer your questions!
