Join Vocales Verticales for an afternoon of poetry and ideas. How can we use poetry as a tool for resistance? Discover how others did it, and write some poems. Han Kang won the Nobel Prize in 2024.

In 2024 Han Kang became the first South Korean author and first Asian woman to win the Nobel Prize for Literature.  She was cited by the Nobel committee “for her intense poetic prose that confronts historical traumas and exposes the fragility of human life.” Her poetry has been described as visceral and physical but also reflective, with a distinctive rhythm. She is the author of The Vegetarian, winner of the International Booker Prize, as well as Human Acts, The White Book, Greek Lessons, and We Do Not Part.
