Help us celebrate Black History Month with an exciting opportunity to create original art in the style of Alma Thomas!
Art professor Michael Hilliard will bring celebrated artist Alma Thomas to life and familiarize participants with her life and artwork, after which participants will create their own works of art in the artist’s style. Alma Thomas, the first Black woman to have a solo exhibition at the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York, is celebrated for her exuberant use of color in her abstract art. REGISTRATION opens 1/27/2024. This program is limited to elementary age children.
