Building Community Together: Germantown Library Over the Years-In Person
Monday, October 26
6:30pm - 7:45pm
Join former Germantown Library managers as they share memories, community history, and the story of the library’s growth, in honor of MCPL’s 75th Anniversary.
Celebrate Montgomery County Public Libraries’ 75th Anniversary with a special program honoring the history and evolution of the Germantown Library. Join us for an insightful conversation with three former branch managers as they reflect on their time serving the Germantown community. Together, they will share stories about what the community was like during different eras, highlight notable changes in library services, and offer firsthand recollections of how the Germantown Library grew—from its original location to the construction of the current building.
This unique panel invites attendees to explore the library’s past, understand its impact on the community, and gain a deeper appreciation for how public libraries adapt and thrive over time. Whether you’re a longtime resident, a library regular, or simply curious about local history, this program offers a warm and engaging look at Germantown’s library legacy as we commemorate MCPL’s 75 years of service. This program will take place in the large lower level meeting room.
