What are the human and robotic challenges living on the Moon and Mars? Join us for a visual presentation from NASA Solar Ambassador Dr. Cailtin Ahrens and scientist Ramin Lolachi to find out! For ages 6-10.

Dr. Caitlin Ahrens is a graduate of West Virginia University with Bachelor of Science degrees in Geology and Physics with an emphasis in Astrophysics. Dr. Ahrens attended the graduate program in Space and Planetary Science at the University of Arkansas and received her PhD in May 2020 with her research on ices on Pluto. She is now an assistant research scientist at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center and works on planetary civil engineers and exploration risk.

The Maryland STEM Festival is a month-long celebration of science, technology, engineering and mathematics designed to advance STEM and STEAM education for children and teens that takes place every fall.

Library Program Attendance (both virtual and in the branch) is limited to participants within the suggested age range of the program. Children attending an MCPL program under the age of 8 must be accompanied by an adult. Adults attending a program intended for children must have an accompanying child.
