Spanish Conversation Circle

Aprenda a hablar y practicar el inglés y el español en grupo comentando las noticias de actualidad. La reunión tiene lugar en la sala 2 en el tercer piso.

El Club Español de conversación regresa en persona los jueves de 5:30pm a 7:00pm a la Biblioteca Brigadier General Charles E. McGee. El nuevo formato dará la bienvenida a hablantes nativos de inglés y español. Las sesiones semanales se estructurarán como encuentros espontáneos, donde habrá un intercambio entre los dos idiomas. Los participantes aprenderán uno del otro, dividiéndose en parejas o pequeños grupos con un mínimo de un hablante nativo de inglés y español por grupo. Los hablantes nativos ayudarán a los estudiantes del segundo idioma con gramática y vocabulario basándose en la discusión del tema elegido ese día. 

“La conversación con nuestros vecinos crea una comunidad más fuerte y saludable,” dice Rosanne Skirble, que ha dirigido El Club Español en los últimos años y enseña el curso Español en Nuestra Comunidad en Montgomery College. “Este intercambio hace que todos hablen en ambos idiomas,” agrega.  Para más información, comuníquense con La Biblioteca de Silver Spring (240) 773-9420. 

The Spanish/English Conversation Club meets every Thursday from 5:30pm – 7:00, in Room 2, at the Brigadier General Charles E. McGee Library, 900 Wayne Avenue in downtown Silver Spring, welcoming both English and native Spanish speakers. The weekly sessions will run like spontaneous meet ups, where participants learn from one another. Those gathered divide into mixed pairs or trios, with English and Spanish speakers in each conversation group. Students native in Spanish can get Student Service Learning hours required for high school graduation for participation. Volunteers will work with small groups with Spanish language learners and directed by the leader of the Conversation Club. This is an on-going, year-round opportunity.

Library Program Attendance (both virtual and in the branch) is limited to participants within the suggested age range of the program. Children attending an MCPL program under the age of 8 must be accompanied by an adult. Adults attending a program intended for children must have an accompanying child.

If you plan to attend with a group of ten or more, please contact the branch at least one week before the program to discuss how your group might be accommodated.
