Curiosity Cube: Mobile Science Lab

Spark your child's love of science with a visit to the Curiosity Cube!

MilliporeSigma's Curiosity Cube is a retrofitted shipping container that has been transformed into a mobile science lab. It features interactive hands-on science experiments using the latest technology to spark curiosity in the next generation of scientists! Stop by the Cube outside the library anytime between noon and 4 p.m.

This year visitors will discover the fundamentals of synthetic biology through three interactive experiments. Children and teens can:

• Explore how enzyme shapes influence biological processes using lock-and-key models.
• Discover how DNA “codes” affect traits and behaviors.
• Learn how turning genes on and off can create genes that help solve real-world problems.

For ages 7 to 14 years old.  Parents/caregivers MUST accompany children under the age of 8 during the program.

Preregistration begins May 15. Log activities from June 13 - August 21, 2026.

Library Program Attendance (both virtual and in the branch) is limited to participants within the suggested age range of the program. Adults attending a program intended for children must have an accompanying child.
