Traditional Chinese music concert from the Washington Guzheng Society. The Guzheng is one of many types of a traditional zither - a plucked string instrument with rich harmonies.
Join us for an enchanting performance featuring the Guzheng, the 2,500-year-old member of the zither family. From delicate ripples of sound to powerful, cascading melodies, let the music transport you to a place of cultural harmony.
According to their website, The Washington Guzheng Society is known for showcasing the highest level of guzheng musicianship in the region. Many members have achieved top-level certification in the China National Musical Instrument Artistic Cultivation Performance Examination. One member has received the prestigious Jack Kent Cooke Young Artist Award, and several have won honors in international and national competitions, such as the American Protégé International Music Talent Competition. https://www.guzhengusa.org/about
