Bot or Not? Is it AI?

They call AI-produced content "slop," but truthfully, a lot of it is not too bad. Sometimes it's almost like the real thing!

AI can write stories, make pictures, and sound very convincing, but it doesn’t think the way humans do! In this hands-on program, you will learn to be a media detective, learning how to tell human-made content from AI-generated stuff. We’ll break down what we know about how AI works, why it sometimes sounds “too perfect,” and what red flags to watch for online. Through games, quick challenges, and real-world examples, participants will sharpen their critical thinking skills and leave better prepared to question what they see, read, and share!

IMPORTANT: WE ARE NOT SURE WE CAN OFFER SSL HOURS FOR THIS MEETING. WE ARE WORKING ON IT, AND WE PROMISE A VERY FUN AND INFORMATIVE EVENT REGARDLESS!

Join us for our Teen Advisory Board Night! Are you interested in helping shape library programs and spaces for service-learning hours? Each month we gather to discuss how to improve teen services at MCPL.  You can also join our TAB leadership which prepares teens for being leaders in the community, on college campuses, and good citizens of the world.
