Do you need help with your taxes? From February 9 to April 14, 2026, volunteers from AARP will offer free tax help at the Germantown Library on Mondays and Tuesdays!
This service is for people in Montgomery County with low or middle incomes and seniors/older adults. This event will take place in the lower level meeting room of the Germantown Library.
When to visit:
Mondays: 10:00 am to 6:00 pm (Starts Feb 9)
Tuesdays: 12:00 pm (Noon) to 8:00 pm (Starts Feb 10)
Tax preparation services will run from Monday, February 9th, through Tuesday, April 14th, 2026. Tax Services are by appointment only.
Scheduling for tax appointments will open on February 2nd, 2026. Call 240-777-2577 to schedule an appointment. The phone lines for appointments will be open Monday through Friday from 9 am to 4 pm. Appointments may also be made by can be made online at www.taxaidemc.info

Library Program Attendance (both virtual and in the branch) is limited to participants within the suggested age range of the program. Children attending an MCPL program under the age of 8 must be accompanied by an adult. Adults attending a program intended for children must have an accompanying child.
If you plan to attend with a group of ten or more, please contact the branch at least one week before the program to discuss how your group might be accommodated.
Accommodation Requests
People who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing should request English-language captioning or sign-language interpretation at least five days before the library-sponsored program they plan to attend. Contact the Assistant Facilities and Accessibility Program Manager at 240-777-0002 with all other accommodation requests.
