Four-session discussion series using real AI headlines to bust myths, weigh risks and benefits, and try quick tips for school, work, and life. Drop in for any or all sessions. Bring a phone or laptop.

Join us for a four-session discussion series built around real AI headlines. Each session begins with a short news story that sets the topic. Together, we separate fact from myth, practice one actionable skill, and open the floor for conversation guided by your questions.

By participating in this program, you build clear, responsible AI habits:

  • Verify claims and sources.
  • Detect deepfakes and other altered media.
  • Write clear, task‑appropriate prompts.
  • Credit AI assistance when required.
  • Protect your privacy and manage your digital footprint.
  • Recognize and reduce bias.
  • Consider energy use and environmental impacts.

Each session stands alone: join any or all of them. The format stays practical and teen-driven, with space for your questions and real-life examples. Expect to leave with something you can use right away for schoolwork, early work experiences and résumés, creative projects, and everyday decisions.

The Maryland STEM Festival is a month-long celebration of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics designed to advance STEM and STEAM education for children and teens that takes place every fall.
