Rosario Castellanos (born May 25, 1925, Mexico City, Mexico—died August 7, 1974, Tel Aviv, Israel) was a novelist, short-story writer, poet, essayist, and diplomat who was probably the most important Mexican woman writer of the 20th century, one of Mexico's most important literary voices in the 20th century.  She was a prominent Mexican writer and feminist, known for her significant contributions to literature and her advocacy for women's rights. Her notable poetry collections includes Poesía no eres tú (“Poetry Is Not You”), and The Selected Poems.

Library Program Attendance (both virtual and in the branch) is limited to participants within the suggested age range of the program. Children attending an MCPL program under the age of 8 must be accompanied by an adult. Adults attending a program intended for children must have an accompanying child.

If you plan to attend with a group of ten or more, please contact the branch at least one week before the program to discuss how your group might be accommodated.
