Learn how proper selection & preparation can make canned foods part of a balanced, nutritious diet. We'll also cover knowledge and tools to promote kidney health in your communities.
Canned foods can be a convenient and affordable way to support healthy eating. This approach to nutrition emphasizes the selection of nutrient-rich canned options—such as low-sodium vegetables, fruits in water or juice, and lean proteins like beans and tuna—while minimizing added sugars and preservatives. With proper selection and preparation, canned foods can be part of a balanced, nutritious diet for individuals and families.
The second half of this presentation will offer individuals with the knowledge and tools to promote kidney health in their communities. This training covers key topics, including kidney function, risk factors for kidney disease, early detection, and lifestyle changes to support kidney wellness. Coaches learn how to provide culturally sensitive education, encourage prevention, and connect people to resources for managing or reducing the risk of kidney disease.
This training is presented by Community Engagement & Consultation Group (CE-CG), a nonprofit dedicated to whole person wellbeing.
