This special conversation will explore how communities can become more resilient in the face of evolving challenges.

Join the Montgomery County Public Libraries and Montgomery County Women's Democratic Club for a vital discussion on emergency preparedness where you'll gain valuable insights into strengthening community resilience. At a time when floods and other natural disasters remind us of its importance, this event will help us understand what we must look for and do in this new emergency preparedness landscape.

The panel of speakers includes:

  • Travis Nelson, Director, Office of Homeland Security, Executive Office of the Governor.
  • Nicole Markuski, Deputy Director, Office of Emergency Management and Homeland Security (OEMHS), Montgomery County.
  • Lauren Collins, Director, Maryland-National Capital Region Emergency Response System.

This discussion panel will be moderated by:

Caitlin Durkovich, Former Deputy Assistant to the President and Deputy Homeland Security Advisor for Resilience and Response in the Biden-Harris White House.
