Read to a Therapy Dog

For Adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities

Spend some time relaxing and reading to a therapy dog! 

Read to a friendly canine friend in a no-judgement zone. Bring your preferred book, or choose from the selection of books we will provide.

This program is for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). Groups are welcome! Please come to the second floor meeting room. No registration necessary. Participants will be assigned a timeslot on a first-come, first-served basis.

Library Program Attendance (both virtual and in the branch) is limited to participants within the suggested age range of the program. 

Accommodation Requests

People who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing should request English-language captioning or sign-language interpretation at least five days before the library-sponsored program they plan to attend. Contact the Assistant Facilities and Accessibility Program Manager at 240-777-0002 with all other accommodation requests.
