A Unified Mindfulness class for practicing meditation in your daily life.
Please join us for meditation. The Unified Mindfulness (UM) system offers tailor-made meditation techniques for practice in the midst of daily life to build Concentration, Clarity, and Equanimity (CC&E, aka mindfulness).
The 8-week class comprises an introduction to each UM technique, guided meditations, and Q&As. The class is well suited for both beginners and experienced practitioners of meditation.
The instructor, Martin Spiering, PhD, is a UM-certified Level 2 Coach. He has practiced meditation for more than 10 years and worked as a researcher and educator for more than 15 years, including leading seminars and classes on meditation and philosophy of mind. UM is a secular mindfulness system developed by meditation teacher and research scientist Shinzen Young and is taught at many institutions. Learn more at Unified Mindfulness.
The class is usually taught while sitting in chairs, but you are welcome to bring your own cushion (and mat).
Registration is required. We meet in Meeting Room 1, 2nd floor.
