Join us for a plein air day in the beautiful library garden.
Soak in the natural light, air, and colors, and textures around you as you paint in the open air (plein air) of the library garden. The landscaped garden features a variety of Maryland’s native flowers, plants, and their pollinators. The library is also surrounded by grassy areas and a rain garden offering differing landscape perspectives. Completed artwork is eligible for the September Plein Air exhibit at the Kensington Park Library.
What to bring: Paints, substrate, easel, stool, water, sunscreen, and a hat. Dress comfortably. Rain date is Sunday, June 23 at 10:15. Registration is required. Please keep in mind, the garden is not very big so people may need to spread out across other parts of the property where there are bushes and trees rather than the garden itself.
Check in at the garden by the walkway entrance across from the front doors of the library building. A librarian will give you a quick tour and ideas around the library grounds; please arrive promptly.
Plenty of restaurants nearby if you would like to dine afterwards.
This event is co-sponsored by the Laurel Art Guild and refreshment support from the Montgomery Art Association.
