America is at war in Vietnam.  And the McMasters are at war over the war - and much more, as they navigate the 1960s, with all its hopes, turbulence and tragedy.  From civil rights struggles to the battlefields of Vietnam and the violent upheavals of 1968, each family member faces fateful, life-defining choices.
