This interactive program features the performance of both traditional and contemporary songs and rhythms and explores the instruments, the use of one's voice in taiko, and a bit of history and Japanese vocabulary, as well. Performances include the chance for volunteers to get up and try their hand at playing these BIG drums! Sponsored by FOLMC
Mark H Rooney has been a taiko student, teacher, performer and collaborator for the past 18 years all around the US, Japan, and Europe. Mark's particular emphasis on "connection" and high-energy teaching style appeals to audiences of all ages.
This program is designed to delight children of all ages and are filled with music and activities that promote and develop language skills and imagination.
TICKETS REQUIRED! Tickets will be given out at the Information Desk beginning 30 minutes before performance.

Library Program Attendance (both virtual and in the branch) is limited to participants within the suggested age range of the program. Children attending an MCPL program under the age of 8 must be accompanied by an adult. Adults attending a program intended for children must have an accompanying child.
