A Reading, Discussion and Learning Event

Join us in commemorating Black History Month by learning about some exceptional African and African American historical figures from a wide range of fields of knowledge and expertise.

Join us in commemorating Black History Month by participating in a fun, interactive, think-pair-share reading and discussion activity to learn about the remarkable lives and accomplishments of some less well-known African and African American individuals in the fields of government, science, sports, the arts, medicine and aviation. Recommended for grades 3-8.

Library Program Attendance (both virtual and in the branch) is limited to participants within the suggested age range of the program. Children attending an MCPL program under the age of 8 must be accompanied by an adult. Adults attending a program intended for children must have an accompanying child.

Accommodation Requests

People who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing should request English-language captioning or sign-language interpretation at least five days before the library-sponsored program they plan to attend.
