Join MCPL & Senior Planet Montgomery for tech lectures! Lectures take place on two Thursdays per month from 3-4pm, hosted by the Olney branch.

Text messaging has become one of the primary ways we communicate. But did you know that you can send texts over the internet? Learn about the most popular messaging apps that allow you to send texts for free when connected to WiFi. The lecture will go over the features of three widely-used apps: iMessages, Google Chat, and WhatsApp. You’ll learn about sending texts and pictures, making voice and video calls, and how these apps keep your messages secure.

Questions about this program? Contact Olney Library at 240-773-9545.

Accommodation Requests

People who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing should request English-language captioning or sign-language interpretation at least five days before the library-sponsored program they plan to attend. Contact the Assistant Facilities and Accessibility Program Manager at 240-777-0002 with all other accommodation requests.
