Have you been interested in mindfulness and meditation, but not sure how to get started?
Just like our bodies, our minds need care and training to function at their best. Mindfulness is the ability to be fully present in our own lives, to be aware of what we are doing as we are doing it. Mindfulness can help us better handle stress, regulate emotions, and feel more connected to ourselves and each other. This session will provide a simple introduction to mindfulness, a brief guided meditation, and resources for further study and practice.
Rachel Phillips-Anderson, LCSW-C (http://www.rpatherapy.com) is a psychotherapist and long-time meditator with the Stillwater Mindfulness Practice Center (https://www.stillwatermpc.org/), a mindfulness practice community in the tradition of Thich Nhat Hanh, offering online and in-person programs around Maryland.
This is an in-person event that will take place in the second floor meeting room at 7pm. All are welcome to attend.
