Join author Kim Malinowski once each month for a series of writing workshops covering Flash Fiction, Prose Poetry, Flash Memoir, and the Hybrid Short.
Short forms are becoming increasingly popular both to write and to read. Shorts are usually less than 1,000 words, at the most 1,500 words, and include hybrid genres such as Flash Fiction, Prose Poetry, Flash Memoir, and the Hybrid Short. Each of our sessions will begin with a prompt which explores technique. Participants are encouraged to send in a “short” they have written to each session for workshopping. Guidance will be given to assure that all participants learn to critique each other’s work respectfully and in a way that will be helpful to the writer. Kim Malinowski has an M.F.A. from American University. She has numerous magazine publications, a chapbook Death: A Love Story, and a newly published book of poetry: Home.
