Happy Halloween! Come learn how to transform common household objects into glow-in-the-dark creations. Create your own blacklight and see fun ideas to test the fluorescence of items in your home!
Join us for this virtual event and practice making your own blacklight with common household items! Hear about fun crafts you can do with your new blacklight, and see a tour of our glowing creepy room. If you'd like to follow along making a blacklight, please have red or purple and blue markers, clear tape, and a flashlight available(you can use your grownup's phone flashlight also). It will be more fun to have yellow, orange, and/or green highlighters and white paper with you. The first 30 registration can come pick up a supply package; we will email the instructions on how to pick it up. You can access a list of suggested materials to have on hand for the activities here so that you can follow along at home.
A raffle will be drawn from registrants to win one of seven DIY blacklight activity kits. You are welcome to dress up with your favorite Halloween costume. If you are stopping by the Rockville Memorial Library, be sure to check out our glowing display near the Town Square book drop.
If in-person library programming resumes prior to this event, the details may change. Registered attendees will receive an email will any changes.
