Join historian Jennifer Paxton for a lecture and discussion about St. Patrick on St. Patrick's Day!

Did St. Patrick really drive the snakes out of Ireland? Much of what we think we know about St. Patrick is actually mythical, but the truth is even more interesting. In this talk, historian Jennifer Paxton will look at the surprising story of the apostle of the Irish, who endured slavery, capture by pirates, and backstabbing church politics on the way to converting Ireland to Christianity. St. Patrick speaks to us today as a model for perseverance in the face of hardship and persecution. Thanks to Irish immigrants, who brought the story of St. Patrick with them to their new homes, the whole world can celebrate his example on March 17!
