Book Crew - for Kindergarten & 1st graders

For beginning readers, grades K-1, join the fun!

Book Crew will meet on Thursday, November 12, 2026, 5:00-5:45 PM because Montgomery County Public Libraries are closed on Wednesday, November 11, 2026.

White Oak Library's Book Crew is just right for beginner readers in grades K-1. Each month we will read a book together, talk about it and do a fun activity inspired by the book. Copies will be available for checkout at the meeting. Book Crew does not teach reading, rather it is meant to introduce kids to some awesome books, get them excited about books and reading, and help them develop social skills through interaction with their peers. 

This is an independent learning experience. Parents and caregivers will not be present in the program room but must remain in the library building during the program. Please meet your child  downstairs outside the meeting room at 5:45 PM.

Library Program Attendance (both virtual and in the branch) is limited to participants within the suggested age range of the program. Children attending an MCPL program under the age of 8 must be accompanied by an adult. Adults attending a program intended for children must have an accompanying child.
